With the Express Entry draws set to resume this July 2022, you should already be thinking about the different things you could do to increase the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of your Express Entry profile, be drawn from the pool, and ultimately, be able to immigrate to Canada. You have come to the right place! We’re listing down five ways on how to improve your Express Entry profile:

  1. Add your spouse. Having a spouse or common law partner in your Express Entry profile greatly affects your CRS score as his/her educational background, work experience, and language proficiency adds to your total score.
  2. Retake your language exam. Your language exam result is one of the things that you can control to improve your Express Entry score. If you received a low IELTS or CELPIP score from your last test, you can review and retake it.
  3. Get a job offer. Finding work in Canada when you are a foreign national can be a bit of a challenge, but with perseverance and the right mindset, anything is possible. Visit recruitment sites like www.jobbank.gc.ca , ca.indeed.com or through the recruitment sites of the different provinces in Canada.
  4. Be nominated by a Canadian province. A nomination from any of the Canadian provinces will earn you 600 points added to your CRS score which gives you a sure spot at the next Express Entry draw. Most of the Provincial Nominee Programs  (PNPs) require a job offer for you to be nominated. But there are also other pathways available to those without employers yet, especially if you have work experience in one of the in-demand occupations in the province.
  5. Hire an expert. You might be losing points on your Express Entry submission just because you are not familiar with how Express Entry or immigration, in general, works. Having mistakes on your profile could also equate to rejection once you are invited to apply. We don’t want that to happen! That is the reason why hiring a Registered Canadian Immigration Consultant is highly recommended. Sure, you can process everything on your own. But since you are not an expert, you may miss out some pertinent information that could heavily affect your application. An RCIC can help you process your application properly.
