To be nominated by a Canadian province, an applicant usually must possess a job offer from an employer. This is where the application gets tough for many. Not a lot of applicants are able to get a job interview, let alone an employment offer. Fortunately, there are a number of streams from different Provincial Nominee Programs in Canada that do not require a job offer. Here are 5 Canada PNPs without job offer:
Ontario Immigration Nominee Program
The Human Capital Priorities Stream in the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program does not require a job offer from a Canadian employer. Same as the Alberta Advantage Nominee Program, interested applicants just need to have an active Express Entry profile to be considered in this stream. The provincial government will send Notification of Interest to selected candidates for them to be able to apply for OINP.
Alberta Advantage Immigration Program
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program has different streams for workers and entrepreneurs. To qualify under the AAIP without a job offer, an applicant only needs to have an Active Express Entry profile. The province will select applicants who they think will be able to contribute to Alberta’s economic growth. The selected candidate will receive a Notification of Interest from the provincial government to be able to apply.
Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program
The Occupations In Demand Program and the Express Entry Program are two streams within the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program or SINP that do not require an employment offer. To be eligible under the Occupations In Demand Program, an applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Must be qualified for occupations in NOC 0, A or B
- Must have a language score of CLB 4 or higher
- Must have at least 60 points in the SINP point assessment grid
- Must have earned an education, training, or apprenticeship related or required in the applicant’s intended occupation
- Must have a related work experience that is not the Excluded Occupations List
- Must have proof of funds
The SINP Express Entry Program, on the other hand, requires that the applicant has an active Express Entry profile in order to qualify for this stream. This means that the language score must be CLB 7 or higher. There is also a minimum number of years of experience to qualify.
Interested applicants must create an account in the SINP website and pay a non-refundable application fee of $350CAD.
Nova Scotia Nominee Program
The Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities invites applicants with an active Express Entry profile. This means that the applicant must have the education, work experience, and language test to qualify for this stream. The invitation is dependent on the province’ labour market needs. The NSNP Express Entry stream, on the other hand, invites highly skilled applicants within the Express Entry pool provided they have at least one year work experience in Nova Scotia.
Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program
To qualify under the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program without a job offer, the applicant must have an active Express Entry profile under Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades or Canadian Experience Class category. The candidate must express interest in working and residing in the province by creating an Expression of Interest profile in the Prince Edward Island website. Once invited, the candidate has to submit an application form and pay $300CAD.
